Cloudflare का Response और Fix
Cloudflare team ने multiple parallel workstreams में काम किया problem solve करने के लिए। सबसे fast solution था Bot Management configuration file को previous last-known-good version पर rollback करना।
Team ने 14:24 UTC पर new Bot Management files की automatic deployment stop कर दी। फिर पुरानी correct configuration file को globally deploy किया गया, जिससे 14:30 UTC तक most services सही तरीके से operate करने लगीं। Remaining services को restart करके 17:06 UTC तक पूरी तरह restore कर दिया गया।
आगे के सुधार - Cloudflare के Plans
Cloudflare ने माफी मांगी और announce किया कि वे future में ऐसी failures को prevent करने के लिए systems को harden कर रहे हैं। Company अब Cloudflare-generated configuration files की ingestion को उसी तरह secure करेगी जैसे user-generated input को करती है।
Features के लिए ज्यादा global kill switches enable किए जा रहे हैं ताकि emergency में quickly disable किया जा सके। Error reports और core dumps को system resources overwhelm करने से रोकने के लिए नए safeguards लगाए जा रहे हैं। सभी core proxy modules के failure modes की comprehensive review की जा रही है।
